Cindy Johnson - Owner & Operator
My name is Cindy Johnson and I'm the owner of Bed & Biscuit Pet Care in San Antonio, Texas.
My love of animals began as a child. I was always finding new animals to adopt. I would bring home cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and even rodents. My parents were more patient than most, probably because they loved the animals just as much as I did - although they wouldn't admit it.
My career as a pet sitter began in the summer of 2005. Some friends of mine sold their house and needed somewhere to board their Labrador Retriever "Buddy" for three months while they were having a new home built. Their dog was used to having a comfortable home environment and a nice yard all to himself, so they preferred not to take him to a boarding facility. They worried that confining him to a kennel for such an extended period of time would be stressful for him. I understood their sentiments and concerns completely, so I offered to care for Buddy in our house until theirs was finished. He fit right in with our own three Labs, and we soon considered him part of our extended family. She insisted on paying me, so we agreed upon a fair rate. At that point, I realized the value of such a service, and the rest is history. Initially we would simply welcome other people's pets into our own home, but eventually branched out and started offering pet sitting and dog walking, as well as overnight pet care. Once my husband and I had our first child in 2009, we had to start scaling back on the boarding side of the business, and we eventually phased it out. But we continue to provide loving, reliable care to pets in the familiar environment of their own homes.
As a fellow pet lover, I know how difficult it can be to find someone you trust to care for your pets while you're away. I absolutely love being a pet sitter, and you can rest assured that your pets will receive all the love, care, and attention they need in your absence.
Jerry - Cat Sitting
Hi, my name is Jerry. I grew up in Miami and served in the US Navy. My family always had dogs or cats, and I was an animal lover from a very early age. While living in my first apartment I adopted a puppy. I loved that dog for 15 wonderful years. When he passed, I was devastated. Within a few months, however, a kitten began showing up on my doorstep every night. I fed her and noticed that every morning she would be sleeping in a makeshift bed I had made for her. She had no collar or ID of any kind, and after a week went by I realized she probably had no owner. So I decided to take her in. From that moment on, I knew I had found my forever friend. Shortly after that I got another kitten, and my love of cats grew stronger by the day. That was almost 25 years ago. Since then, I've had as many as eight cats at one time. I now have two and I love them to death. I couldn't imagine life without them. I've always been a passionate animal lover, but cats hold a special place in my heart. I've fed many feral colonies through the years, and even adopted some of them from time to time. When I joined the team at Bed & Biscuit, I knew I found my place taking care of the sweet cats that are part of our clients' families. I can assure you that your kitties will be as well cared-for as my own.
